As of 30th June 2011 holiday let properties will be legally required to have an Energy Performance Certificate before they are rented out.
This legislation will apply to all holiday let properties that are occupied for 4 months or more in a year.
Mobile homes and static caravans remain exempt. More detailed information can be seen here
Non exempt holiday let properties that fail to comply to this legislations are liable to be prosecuted by Trading Standards, with a potential fine of £200 for each tenant that has rented the property during the period of non compliance.
